The Road
by Cormac McCarthy
The Road begins on a post-apocolyptic American coast, though the exact location is never made known. The writing style attempts to recreate the rambling moment-by-moment reality of living in a world destroyed by nuclear war, and ravaged by the survivors who linger on thereafter. This is a soul-searching book that questions the nature of God when no one remains on earth to love Him. The book is a short, quick read, but equally gripping and powerful. Highly recommended!
